On the last school day before the holidays, the English-Vorkurs rounded off their unit on Scotland with an excursion to the Scottish pub “Loch Ness” in Steglitz. Over cider, whisky, or simply Scottish spring water, the class first revisited the film Braveheart, which they had watched in class, and discussed its historical accuracy.
Then, there was a true test of courage – at least for Josue, who had won the Scotland quiz in class a few weeks earlier and was now rewarded with an invitation to try Haggis.

The Scottish national dish – a hearty mix of sheep’s liver, heart, lung, and windpipe – earned an impressive 4 out of 5 points from him. Two other students also showed genuine “Braveheart”- spirit and dared to take on the culinary challenge.

Conclusion: A successful – and delicious – start to the autumn holidays! Slàinte!
